Well tomorrow will be the day my baby gets here. My wife will be getting induced. Hopefully the process is not that long even tho I know it can be. I will most likely have trouble sleeping tonight as will she. Hopefully I can be at least half of the dad mine was. If I can at least get half I know I will be a great father.

Almost a year...
Time for a little run down.
There has been a lot going on this past year of my life. The best starting point is when my arm got broke during training in June. I was out of work for 2 months. It really put a damper on things. As I am sure you have heard the saying, "take the good with the bad." That is what I did. During this 2 month leave period I also found out that my wife was pregnant. She is now at 39 weeks and ready to burst any day now. We are having a boy. His name will be Rune Pennington. Yes we know it is not a name used often but we like the name. Rune means "secret" , and its origin is old Norse. Pennington was my grandfathers middle name. Pennington means ... well i really don't know. I can't find anything about it really, unless used in a surname. So i guess it's a secret as well.
As for my career at ADT, it is going great. Besides the 2 months of work I missed I really do like my job here. I am one of two techs who get to stay in the office and help out when needed. The other tech prefers to be in the field. So it is mainly me that stays behind to help out. There are two reason why I decided to stay out of the field and help. The main reason is to show the other workers that I can do "office work". I do not want to be a tech my entire life. I want to move into management and have a team of my own one day. That is actually one of the first things I told my hiring manager when I started working here. The 2nd reason is that my job is a commission position. So if I have no jobs for the day or my jobs don't go off, for whatever reason, I have something to fall back on to get paid for the day... if there is help needed in the office.
Over the past few weeks I could just feel this change coming. Maybe it's the new baby? yes.. Maybe it's me jumping back into full swing at the dojo? yes Maybe there is a new position that might open up for me at work? yes...we hope. Once I realized there was change coming and could feel it, i went and shaved my head. I wasn't going to shave it but it just so happens one of our black belts was having a head shaving party and fit perfectly for this "change" for me. So thanks to her and her strength and what she is having to deal with gave me the strength to get past a little ego of mine and just chop it off. Like I said tho there is change in the air and it is for a positive spin in my life. It finally feels like things in my life are getting back on track.
